Toronto, April 16th, 2012 – Brookfield Financial Corp. ("Brookfield Financial") is pleased to announce that Ilias Konstantopoulos has joined the company as a Managing Partner in Toronto, adding to Brookfield Financial's global offering of transaction advisory and investment banking services.
Mr. Konstantopoulos joins Brookfield Financial with approximately two decades of experience in advising boards of directors, special committees and senior management teams on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, valuations, fairness opinions, financings and other investment banking related matters. Ilias spent the last 15 years with BMO Capital Markets as a senior member of the Mergers & Acquisitions group and, more recently, as Head of the Investment and Corporate Banking group in Montreal. Prior to BMO Capital Markets, Ilias worked at Ernst & Young in various roles including with the Transaction Advisory Services group. Ilias has advised on more than 60 transactions having an aggregate transaction value in excess of $80 billion for both public and private companies across various industry sectors including consumer and retail, resources, real estate, media, telecom and technology and diversified industries. Ilias began his professional career with Bechtel in 1988 as a structural design engineer.

Ilias holds a Bachelor of Engineering and Masters in Business Administration from McGill University and is a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.), Chartered Accountant (CA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
