Brydon Cruise leads the group with more than 23 years of experience in real estate investment banking. He is responsible for originating and executing real estate M&A, debt and equity capital markets transactions for Brookfield Financial. Brydon previously worked as a Managing Director at RBC Capital Markets in the commercial mortgaged-backed securities business and developed a mortgage trading platform for the bank. His experience also includes working on the principal side as a Managing Partner for two prominent US based real estate finance investment companies, Fortress Investment Group and Lonestar Opportunity Fund. Prior to that he worked in the real estate investment banking group at Citigroup.
Notable transactions that Brydon has participated in include the privatization of Summit REIT by ING Real Estate, the Sale of Atlas Cold Storage to the Avion Group, the sale of Dundee REIT’s central and eastern assets to GE Real Estate, and the sale of Deerfoot Meadows in Calgary.
Brydon has a business degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. He currently serves on the Board of the YMCA of Greater Toronto.

Leonard joined Brookfield Financial in December 2005 and oversees the company’s property advisory business for Canada. Prior to joining Brookfield Financial, he was a Managing Director of TD Cornerstone which he joined in 1998 after TD Securities acquired the Cornerstone Commercial Realty the boutique property advisory that he established in 1995 following twelve years as one of CB Richard Ellis’ leading investment sales professionals in Canada. Leonard has over 24 years of experience in real estate on the investment banking and brokerage sides of the industry.
Leonard’s focus has been the sale of all forms of investment product across Canada. He has been involved in major transactions in almost every province and has acted for clients, most recently in the sale of Yonge-Eglinton Centre, Atrium on Bay, CN Central Station in Montreal and Deerfoot Meadows in Calgary. Leonard and his team assist the firm's public, private, and institutional clients through property brokerage, M&A advisory and debt and equity financing and, as such, have successfully completed over $10 billion of transactions since 2005.
Leonard is a graduate of Boston University School of Management and holds a BSc in Business Administration Real Estate Finance. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of USDS as its President.

John Cardiff is a Managing Partner of Brookfield Financial where he oversees the company’s property advisory business for Calgary and the western region of North America. John has over 24 years of experience in all aspect of commercial real estate holding senior positions within principal as well as advisory services firms’ active in the investment banking, property brokerage, development, construction, leasing as well as financing sides of the industry.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto and is the Broker of Record for Brookfield Financial’s Calgary property brokerage operation.
John’s current focus is on the sale of all forms of investment product across Canada. He has been involved in major transactions in almost every province and has acted for clients, most recently in the sale of the ATCO CBD Office Properties in Edmonton and Calgary and Deerfoot Meadows, one of Calgary’s largest Power Centres.
John is a Broker with Brookfield Financial Real Estate Group Limited.
Heather Goldman is Managing Partner at Brookfield Financial US, LLC, responsible for new business origination.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Goldman was Senior Vice President at Starwood Capital Group Global, responsible for Fundraising and Client Services. Prior to that, Ms. Goldman was Senior Client Partner and Global Sector Leader, Real Estate, at Korn/Ferry International. Previously, Ms. Goldman spent nearly five years as Chairman and CEO of CapitalThinking, a real estate software and risk management company. Ms. Goldman has an eight-year background in investment and corporate banking, including at Bank of Montreal where she was a Director in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group. Previously, Ms. Goldman had served more than three years as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, West Africa.
Ms. Goldman earned her BA in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and her MBA from Chicago Booth, Graduate School of Business. Ms. Goldman serves as a Director for University Settlement, a social services nonprofit based in New York City, where she also chairs the Development Committee and previously served as Treasurer.
