Colin Catherwood has over 10 years of experience in the real estate industry. He is responsible for leading the valuation, underwriting, due diligence and marketing of a number of large single-asset and portfolio investment sales transactions within the group. His depth of experience spans all assets classes of multi-family, seniors housing, office, retail, and industrial. Prior to Brookfield he worked in the real estate investment bank at TD Securities, and previous to that at Bentall Capital.
Notable transactions that Colin has worked on include the El-Ad Apartment Portfolio, RegencyCare, Our Home Your Home Seniors Portfolio and the Kilbarry Apartment Portfolio.
Colin holds an Honours Bachelor Degree of Applied Arts in Urban Development from The University of Western Ontario and is currently a candidate for a Diploma in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia.

Janina has been active in the commercial real estate industry since 1990. Janina has experience in diverse areas of the industry including brokerage, managing, leasing, and appraising properties such as office buildings, shopping centres and industrial properties.
Throughout 10 years of brokerage experience, Janina has worked on a number of notable transactions such as the sale of 500 René-Lévesque O., Edifice J-A Tardif, Place Quebec, Windsor Station, Nortel’s Campus in Techno-parc St-Laurent, Complexe Standard Life, Façade de la Gare, and several others. She has serviced corporate clients including SITQ, Ivanhoe-Cambridge, SIQ, Standard Life, SunLife, and Desjardins.
Janina has a Bachelor of Commerce degree specializing in Real Estate Finance & Urban Analysis at McGill University.
After having worked at LCBA (now Atlus Group) for several years, Janina acquired the title of chartered appraiser, and is recognized by both l'Ordre des Évaluateurs Agréés du Québec and the Appraisal Institute of Canada.

Sandro joined Brookfield Financial in 2006 and is responsible for originating and placing equity and debt financing mandates. Sandro Morassutti has over 10 years of experience in investment banking and capital markets positions. Prior to joining Brookfield Financial, Sandro was a Vice President at Merrill Lynch Canada in the Debt Capital Markets Group, which he joined after serving as an Associate in First Marathon Securities’ Investment Banking Group.
In his prior positions, Sandro was involved in originating and executing several domestic, USD and Global debt financings, private market debt placements and public and private equity offerings.
Notable transactions that he has participated in include the equity placement for the Retirement Life Communities Joint Venture, the Graywood Condominium Development Fund, the financing of the Ottawa Arts Centre and the sale of Atlas Cold Storage to the Avion Group.
Sandro is a graduate of The Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, where he earned both his BA (Hons) in Business Administration and his MBA.
Sandro is the Trading Officer for Brookfield Financial Corp.
Matt Picken brings with him over ten years of experience in real estate investment sales. He is responsible for the origination and execution of office, industrial and land transactions, together with major property portfolios across Canada. Matt previously worked as a Vice President at RBC Capital Markets and was one of the original members of Brascan Financial Real Estate Group in 2004. Over his career, Matt has been involved in excess of $3.0 billion of transactions, working on behalf of several Canadian Pension Funds, REITs, Life Companies and private syndicates.
Matt has an Honours Bachelors of Arts degree from Huron College at the University of Western Ontario.
Matt sits on the Board of Directors for Toronto NAIOP and is involved in several Canadian charities, including JDRF and the Canadian Diabetes Association.
