Tony Sandhu has over 15 years of experience in the Real Estate Industry. Tony is responsible for the due diligence and underwriting on brokerage transactions. Tony has underwritten all types of real estate - Industrial, Retail, Office and Multi-Res.
He previously worked for Cadillac Fairview and Ivanhoe Cambridge in their respective Finance Departments. Notable transactions include the Atrium on Bay in Toronto, CN Central Station in Montreal and Deerfoot Meadows in Calgary.
Josephine Shum is an Assistant Vice President at Brookfield Financial US, LLC, responsible for executing equity and debt placements, restructuring, recapitalization, M&A and portfolio advisory mandates. She has over eight years of real estate experience in asset management, acquisitions, and development, across all asset classes.
Prior to joining the Firm, Josephine was a Manager at AIG Global Real Estate responsible for asset management and acquisitions. Her asset management portfolio included over $1 billion of operating properties and land assets in the US. While at AIG Global Real Estate, Josephine underwrote and closed on over $3 billion of investments in the US, Europe, and Asia. Josephine has a background in real estate development, including at Gemini Commercial Investments in London and The Ryland Group in Charlotte, NC.
Josephine earned her MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Southern California with a BS in Business Administration and a minor in Architecture.
Farzana joined Brookfield Financial in 2004, and is responsible for designing marketing materials, implementing marketing strategies, and handling all aspects of the packaging, production and marketing of property brokerage and capital markets transactions. Farzana has over 10 years experience in graphic and architectural design with 4 years experience in commercial real estate.
Some notable transactions that Farzana has been involved in include Atrium on Bay in Toronto, Deerfoot Meadows Shopping Centre in Calgary, the sale of Summit REIT to ING Real Estate and the acquisition of Dundee REIT’s Eastern Canadian Portfolio by GE Real Estate.
Farzana graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and holds a Licentiate Graphic Designer of Canada (LGDC) and Registered Graphic Designer (RGD) designations.
Jamie provides underwriting and analysis for real estate structured finance transactions, M&A, debt and equity market transactions.
Prior to joining Brookfield Financial, Jamie completed a MSc City Design at the London School of Economics in 2007. The program primarily focused on housing development in dense urban areas through the collaboration between public and private sector initiatives.
Jamie completed his BSc Civil Engineering and BA Economics from Queen’s University in 2006. He is currently working towards completing his CFA designation.
